Commercial aircraft made in China!
China is going into the elite field of commercial aircraft producers as it launches its maiden commercial flight on Sunday.
Gulf News reports that the made-in-China aircraft will rival Boeing Co. and Airbus SE. Flight MU9191 took off from Shanghai and landed safely in Beijing. The plane carried 128 passengers.
The distance of 1771 kilometers marks a commercial debut for Commercial Aircraft Corp of China Ltd. The production began in late 2011 and in 2022, the C919 received official notification to fly.
China might disrupt the dominance of Boeing and Airbus in commercial aircraft manufacturing. However, both Airbus’ A320neo and Boeing’s 737 Max jets have a full order book throughout the decade.
Although Comac has more than 1,000 orders for the C919, there are doubts over its ability to fulfil the orders.
