LEEKAN SI? ONCE AGAIN? – Adewale Sobowale

It’s reported in today’s papers that an APC member went to court to set aside the constitutional provision limiting the tenure of the Nigerian president to two. He’s said to be asking the courts for a tenure elongation.

While I concede the fact everyone has the right to go to the courts, at the same time, I also believe everyone has the right to nurse the ambition to occupy the number one position in the country.

Apparently, the guy that went to court has an inferiority complex. He feels it could not be him or anyone from his family.

I wouldn’t think anyone in his right senses would be so foolish as to seek a tenure elongation for this non-achieving government. Even if it had achieved, it would still have been a stupid idea and a waste of time for a government to spend more than the two terms allowed.

There’s something called the law of diminishing returns in Economics. However, the fact remains that this is about the worst government in terms of performance, that Nigeria would ever have.

Even the googled Abacha’s government was much better than this kleptocracy.

It’s definitely not in any position to preempt the courts’ decision!
