Libya’s missing uranium found!

A stockpile of uranium which was declared missing earlier this week has been found.
The Washington Post reports that the news was revealed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Earlier in the week, the barrels containing 2.5 tons of natural uranium were reported missing from the warehouse where they were stored.
But the Libyan National Army announced the barrels were found several miles from the warehouse where they were previously stored.
The IAEA said it “poses little radiation hazard, but it requires safe handling.”
The agency however revealed that it could pose a radiological risk and nuclear security concerns.
It is suspected that an armed group from Chad might have raided the warehouse and stolen the barrels. They might have thought the barrels contained weapons or ammunition, Khaled Mahjoub the head of LNA’s media unit said.
