The famous American talk show host, Oprah Winfrey has chosen Ann Napolitano’s “Hello Beautiful” for her 100th book club pick.

The Associated Press reports that the book was published on Tuesday by Dial Press. The author is the writer of the best-selling “Dear Edward.”

Winfrey says the book’s themes of family resilience and perspective will give the book a “universal appeal.”

Although the paper is of the opinion a Winfrey pick may no longer generate blockbuster sales anymore, it says it still retains a special status within the industry.

A call from Winfrey to authors gives them a feeling like they have won an Oscar.

For the latest pick, Wubfrey relied on the same instincts she has always drawn upon. She checks out if the story moves her if she thinks about it for days after and if it’s a faction, do the characters seem real to her?

The book club began in 1996 as an extension of conversations between herself and her producer, Alice McGee. McGee suggested that Winfree should share her experience with her viewers. In the beginning, whenever Winfrey picks a book, it becomes a bestseller automatically.

Winfrey says she’s colour-blind in her choice of books.
