Perception of immigrant problem in Houston!
More humans are on the move right now than at any time since WW11.
Medium Daily Digest reports that most countries in the world are dealing with the movement of human beings while most of them are equally trying to accommodate them and use their manpower without causing upheaval among their own citizens.
But media establishments and political parties often make a fortune scaring people about the negative implications of immigration. They also nurture fear, hate, and misunderstanding in other to seize power in countries. When they get to power, the basic freedoms that attract the migrants are chipped away. They end up creating a more violent and bleak reality and end up driving politics further to the right. They, therefore, make any further reasonable discussions about immigration impossible.
In the United States, the lies, rhetoric, and overall xenophobia of right-wing media, the Republican Party and its adherents are forcing the Democrats into holding extreme views. In order not to be seen as xenophobic, racist, or insensitive, Democrats hardly consider anything that deters the flow of migrants into the United States.
Immigration is great, especially for a country as big as the United States. It has the advantage of recruiting labour for the various industries. When immigrants are deterred from entering the United States, rather than strengthening the economy, it weakens it because most “white Americans” have a low birth rate.
The United States need to revolutionize its immigration policy. People should understand that the fact someone has left their country and migrated to some other country does not make them undesirable. They should be treated as humans which they are.
Both parties in the United States should cooperate and be free of emotions, focused and real when it comes to the matter of immigration.
