TAKING AGES TO CRAZE! – Adewale Sobowale

The Yoruba have a wisecrack for everything. One of them is if it takes one ages to get mad, when will the person display it? Not to ask when they’ll be cured.

Nigeria remains a comedy of errors.

In the first instance, the governor of the state of aquatic splendour where Christians went to church on Sunday only to return to find themselves homeless had the time to go see the tenant of Aso Rock to show him photographs of the tragedy.

I would have thought if the president was too busy to leave the ozza room, the gomina should have availed himself of modern technology to beg for whatever Abuja had to offer.

Those who went to church were even lucky. What about those that died? If we had had a good administration the state should have declared some days of mourning with flags at half-mast.

But then, we’re used to horrible situations.

I learn a federal legislative house is just about to debate the coronavirus issue with reference to whether or not to allow flights from other countries into the country. It’s very timely of them, isn’t it?

I hope they appoint a committee that will call for stakeholders before they finally pass a bill in, say, a year’s time.

So, the president is too big to address the nation on this global scourge.

Like I’ve always said, Nigeria has never had it this bad.
