Visa requirements to Norway – Adewale Sobowale

There are different types of visas to Norway. It depends on the purpose of one’s travel to the Schengen country.

General Requirements

× Download the application form and fill it.

× Attach two passport size photographs to the form.

× Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you wish to leave Norway. The passport must have, at least, two blank pages.

× Copies of your recent visas.

x A copy of your return ticket reservation.

x Evidence of travel insurance.

x A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Norway.

x Evidence of civil status. ( Marriage certificate, Children’s birth certificate, Spouse”s death certificate, etc)

x Evidence of accommodation for the whole duration of your proposed stay in Norway.

x Evidence of sufficient financial resources for the period of your stay in Norway.

IF EMPLOYED

x Letter of employment.

x Current bank statement for the last 6 months.

x Letter of reference from your employer.

x Income tax details.

IF SELF-EMPLOYED

x A copy of business license.

x Company bank statement for the last 6 months.

x Income tax return.

IF A STUDENT

x Proof of enrollment.

x Approval letter from school.

IF RETIRED

x Pension statement for the last 6 months.

If applicable : Evidence of regular income generated by property for the last 6 months.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Norway tourist visa :

× Invitation letter from family or friends in Norway.

× Bank statement for the last 6 months.

x Passport photographs.

Business purpose :

x Invitation letter from the Norwegian company.

x A letter from your employer allowing your business trip.

x Proof of any trade transaction between both companies, if applicable.

x Business bank statement for the last 6 months.

x Original certified copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association, trade license, proprietorship/partnership documents.

x Evidence of sponsoring the applicants during their stay in Norway.

Visa for Medical purpose :

× A local medical report.

x A confirmation from the hospital in Norway of date of appointment as well as the applicant’s medical condition.

x Receipt of payment of medical fees.

Visa for culture, sports, film crew or religious purposes :

x Invitation letter from the relevant authorities.

x Names of applicants.

x Duration of stay.

x Travel itinerary.

Visa for members of official delegation :

× Official copy of invitation letter.

x Identity of applicants.

x Purpose of journey.

x Duration of stay.

× Place of accommodation.

Visa for study, training, research, etc

x Enrollment letter.

x Financial sustenance.

Visa for the partner of a Norwegian citizen

× Norwegian marriage certificate.

x Norwegian family record book.

Airport transit visa :

x A copy of visa for your final destination.

Visa for underaged children :

× Evidence of parent’s regular income.

x Notarized parental travel consent.
