There’s no doubting the fact that Turkey is in a lot of economic difficulties. As a result, the scapegoats are the refugees in the country.

Al Jazeera reports that tensions may spill over in a matter of weeks.

Social media handles are being used to share videos of foreign nationals hanging out in various parts of Istanbul. Many people are actually asking for the foreigners to be deported.

Some citizens of Turkey are accusing Syrians of taking over their jobs. Syrians are also accused of being responsible for high rental prices.

Some politicians are reported to be dancing to the people’s tunes. They see it as a chance to win their electorates over during the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

Elections are scheduled for June, 2023.

Turkey has over 4 million refugees, according to Interior Ministry reports. 3.76 million are Syrians.

The opposition believes the figure is actually more than that.
